Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium funding is a government initiative designed to target resources to those pupils deemed to be from a disadvantaged background. Specifically, the Pupil Premium fund is based on the number of pupils who have been on Free School Meals (FSM) at any point over the past 6 years (Ever 6 FSM). For the academic year 2023-24, the Pupil Premium allocations has been calculated based on the number of eligible pupils recorded by the school school in October 2022. The Pupil Premium funding has a value of £1,035 per eligible pupil in secondary education, £2,530 per pupil that has previously been looked after by a local authority.  The allocation for pupils who who are currently looked after is paid directly to their local authority.

Ursuline College also receives £335 for every pupil with a parent who:

  •  is serving in HM Forces
  • has retired on a pension from the Ministry of Defence

This funding is to help with pastoral support.

Pupil Premium is used to promote strategies which narrow the attainment gap between the highest and lowest achieving pupils, and enable eligible pupils to thrive, particularly if they demonstrate high ability. More information on how the school do this can be found in the documentation below:
